Over the years Thecla C. Deterville has delivered many motivational speeches to various groups and organizations to mark special occasions. Some of these speeches have been delivered to Schools, Women’s Groups, Sporting Organizations, Charitable Organizations, the Public Sector and business entities.
This DVD is a compilation of five such speeches. The first was delivered on January 28, 2002 at the Graduation Exercise of a Small Business Management Course organized by the Small Enterprise Development Unit (SEDU), under the theme,” Independence through Entrepreneurship. “

The second was delivered on February 2, 2002 to the then Management Team of Julian’s Supermarket, and it was entitled “I Am A Manager – Me Incorporated.”

The third speech in this series was in observance of International Women’s Day 2003 and was delivered to women in the uniformed security services; the theme for that address was “Women Facing the Challenges of a Changing Society.

The fourth speech in this recording was first delivered on June 28, 2003 in celebration of the 9th Charter Anniversary Dinner of the Rotract Club of Gros Islet, under the theme “Together we Can, Together We Will.”

And the fifth and final was delivered on 9th March, 2005 in observance of International Women’s Day the theme for the celebration that year was “Women Speaking Out” and the title of the address was “Women and Leadership In our Society – thoughts and challenges faced in ascendance to her then position as a senior business executive of a multinational corporation. This address was based on her personal experiences in positions of leadership.

Thecla who one year ago retired as General Manager of Courts (St. Lucia) Limited now runs her own business Celestial Self Development Centre, at Sans Souci where she specializes in Human Resource Development interventions with special emphasis on soft skills training and the provision of Self Development workshops and Courses. The center also houses a library comprising business, motivational, self development and spiritual books. Membership is open to all.

Recently she delivered motivational speeches to members of staff of the Ministry of Communication & Works at the beginning of a strategic planning exercise, entitled “Me Incorporated”. She also addressed the staff of the services unit of the Ministry of Legal Affairs, at their annual retreat. The address was titled; “Team Central Agency – our Individual and Collective Contribution”.

In January this year she addressed Principles of Secondary and Primary Schools at their General Meeting held at Coconut Bay in Vieux Fort, that talk was entitled “The Role of the Principle in a Changing Global Environment”. Her most recent delivery has been airing on NTN when she addressed the staff of the Government Information Service.
